To prepare our seventh graders for their exciting nature trip to Sargent Center in New Hampshire, the PTO has arranged for Wingmasters to present their Birds of Prey program at school on October 21 (the day before students leave for Sargent Center). The birds of prey, known as hunting birds or raptors, include eagles, hawks, falcons and owls. Jim Parks of Wingmasters (www.wingmasters.net) will bring these rescued birds into the classroom for the children to observe as he talks about predation, their place in the food chain, and their hunting adaptations. He will also discuss the future of these endangered raptors.
This program is sponsored by the PTO and funded by generous Annual Giving contributions from families like yours. The PTO spends approximately $100 per student on programs like this for each grade. If you haven’t yet made your Annual Giving contribution, please consider doing so today at https://www.lpto.org/contribute
