MCC Mission Statement

The Lincoln METCO Coordinating Committee (MCC) celebrates and strengthens the diversity of our school community by charitably providing social and academic enrichment opportunities that build strong and dynamic relationships between our Boston-based (METCO program) students and Lincoln-based students at the Lincoln Public School, their families and the greater Lincoln, MA community.

The Lincoln MCC helps further PTO mission by enabling Full Participation in PTO, Lincoln School and Community Activities.

The MCC focuses on enrichment and social activities that bring Boston families together with the wider Lincoln community.  The dedicated efforts of parent and community volunteers, combined with collaborative support from community organizations and businesses, such as the Lincoln PTO, Lincoln Parks & Recreation Department, LEAP and Stonegate Gardens, have enabled our Boston-based children to participate in signature community events, including:

  • PTO Back-to-School Picnic

  • Scarecrow Spirit Event

  • Trunk-or-Treat

  • Bingo Night

  • Movie Night

Lincoln Summer Camp Scholarships

The Lincoln MCC hopes to continue our partnership with Lincoln Department of Parks & Recreation to fund needs-based scholarships that allow Boston-based students to participate in the Lincoln Summer Day Camp program for four weeks.  This past summer, 48 Boston-based friends joined their classmates at camp, deepening their friendships, honing their swimming skills, and attending an optional Achievement Camp.

Kindergarten Reading Program

During the 2016-17 school year, the MCC implemented a weekly kindergarten reading program which paired students with volunteers for reading, snacks and crafts.   This was a volunteer program, organized by the MCC, and was met with enthusiasm and high participation.  We hope to bring this program back to the Lincoln School for the 2018-19 school year, and to do so, we need volunteers!
